Sophie is a skilled science communication and marketing professional with 10 years’ experience in both the charity sector and biotechnology industry. She honed her passion for using scientific storytelling to engage audiences as research communications manager for a UK cancer charity, before joining OXGENE in 2019. Here, she helped leverage the company’s scientific excellence to establish their position as innovators and thought leaders within the cell and gene therapy industry. Sophie holds a PhD in Developmental Biology from University College London and a degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
Sophie enjoys the variety associated with communicating cutting-edge science, feeling that every day offers a new positive challenge. She values the expertise and experience of her colleagues, and particularly respects the way they invest their time and energy in helping others to be the best version of themselves. She’s proud of how the marketing team and the OXGENE brand have advanced in recent years, and of the assets they’ve developed to tell their story to the world.
When she’s not leading the marketing team, Sophie enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends – ideally in as much sunshine as possible.
