Advancements in adeno-associated virus (AAV) analytical toolset for improving process and product quality

With the growing use and development of recombinant AAV (rAAV) vectors for gene therapies, there is a increasing need for accurate and robust analytical methods to validate the quantity and quality of the product. Here we report three approaches used to advance OXGENE’s analytical toolset for rAAV vectors: development of an automated, high-throughput method for titration by qPCR, use of Nanopore sequencing to assess sequence fidelity and identify residual DNA contaminants, and use of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) imaging to assess product quality.
